Cedar Pacific Opens Student Accommodation in Auckland
15 February 2021
Auckland, New Zealand February 15, 2021 – Alternative investment manager Cedar Pacific announces the opening of its 697 bed student accommodation facility dedicated for AUT students. The building, constructed on a vacant lot on the corner of Wakefield and Mayoral Drive, comprises a podium leased to the university that will house a large athletic facility including a basketball court and other university student related functions, on top of which are two accommodation towers linked by communal areas.
AUT’s Vice Chancellor, Derek McCormack, presided over the Maori blessing held on Friday. The property will be managed by UniLodge, New Zealand and Australia’s largest manager of student accommodation. This facility represents the fourth student accommodation in Auckland for Cedar Pacific. “We were pleased to collaborate with the university to realise this state-of-the-art facility for AUT’s students, allowing the university to continue to expand” said Paul Fell, COO of Cedar Pacific, who had sailed across the Tasman and quarantined in order to attend the event.
The building was designed by the Auckland architecture firms of Jasmax and Marchese and constructed by Icon under the supervision of DASL.
